Pez Cantina

Located on Bunker Hill and super close to Disney Hall, Pez Cantina has been a great addition to the downtown dining scene since late 2014! The Chef/owner Bret Thompson is a former Patina Executive Chef, so he knows fish (fyi…the Spanish name Pez means Fish)! He and his wife Lucy Ramirez opened Pez Cantina, which focuses on seafood, with the recipes primarily coming from Lucy’s family and childhood in the Baja: from Baja, to Oaxaca, to the Yucatan Peninsula. I have a few pictures from a Concierge event earlier this past year which will give you an idea of the quality of the food! It is fantastic!

This is NOT an El Torito! The guacamole and the chips – made fresh daily – are sensational, plus the margaritas are fabulous – particularly the ones with chile-salt on the rim! Remember Pez is totally within walking distance from MOCA, Disney Hall, and The Broad – and the outdoor seating is phenomenal! Summer in L.A. is fantastic… there is no better place to be and DTLA is one of THE places to BE!!! It has become a DESTINATION in L.A. I cannot get enough of it!
