There are so many museums and galleries here in Los Angeles that are worth your attention – however, I realize that time is limited and you may need to pace yourself. Here I’ve highlighted most of the “biggies” which of course I love, and as my site unfolds in the future I will include many other museums, galleries and venues that should definitely be on your ”things to see” list. Museum Row on the Miracle Mile, for example, is home to a number of fantastic museums that could easily fill up a day: Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), The Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits, The Petersen Automotive Museum and the Craft and Folk Art Museum… park once and see them all! And then there’s The Getty – an all-day excursion (or at least ¾ of a day) and also the Downtown Museums, however those you can easily do all together in a day. Santa Monica and Venice also have some super-cool smaller galleries that are at or near the beach, that could easily fit into your day. I have also included a couple of other ‘art’ venue favorites… a small music venue that I love and one of my all-time favorite places in L.A. 🙂 For occasional blogs on arts events and gallery shows around L.A., check out SoDoesRichard at this link.
