The Butcher’s Daughter

The Butcher’s Daughter, a Brooklyn-based vegetarian café/ juice bar, just opened its first L.A. location on Abbot Kinney early this year, and it is stunning! Abbot Kinney is THE perfect street for this tres’ cool eatery and this could easily become one of my favorite places to dine… but then, I say that about most of the restaurants on my site. There are so many places to eat in L.A. and it is often a multi–sensory experience that makes me really love a specific place. You can have great ambiance and blah food, or great food and zero ambiance. This place has both of the greats! You walk in and you immediately feel happy that you are there

The Executive Chef makes all of his own pastas, the pastry Chef (who worked at Bouchon with Thomas Keller and at Maude with Curtis Stone) makes his own vegan pastries and bread. They also have a juice bar, an espresso bar, and a bar-bar with their own in-house sommelier as well as their own private wine label offering a “Sassy White”, a “Slutty Red”, and a lovely Rosé. Also available for purchase are a variety salts, an olive oil, soaps, and some body scrubs. I forgot to mention that they also have a wood fire oven for pizzas AND… the presentation is beautiful! There is also an adorable back patio with a chiminea! Again, this place is fabulous (but not a place I would recommend for young children).
